Beach Video

Sorry I have been such a slacker on blogging. I have been struggling with some allergy issues the last few days. I haven't been feeling too skippy to say the least. I did finally figure out how to post a video. DUH - I had been trying to upload through photos instead of the video button. Oh well, I never claimed to be a computer genius!

Anywho, this is Bug at the Baytowne Wharf on our last night at the beach. He had not had a nap that day. I know....he is running around like a wild man. He had found himself a little audience at the back of the green. He is such a HAM. I keep thinking his career path could be a politician (he talks, waves to complete strangers), a stunt man (he is constantly leaping off furniture and purposely falling), and now, a circus entertainer. That woud be my luck - attend FSU's circus school....

Enjoy his antics!

Hey Mrs. Shirley....

....Bug asked about you last night. He wanted you to stay instead of just dropping me off. He also said he wanted to play with Emily. So since he couldn't have either, I gave him the B&B Works bag instead.

He LOVES it.

Beach - 2nd part

After a fun filled evening on Friday night here, we woke up Saturday AM feeling rested (well, Monty didn't - he is a light sleeper) and hit the beach first thing. Thankfully, we were able to get one of those nifty umbrellas with 2 lounge chairs. Lane also met a friend that day, Jenny. She is from NJ and is 3 yrs old. They became fast friends and had lots of fun playing in the sand. Monty and I were quite happy because we could actually sit back and relax.

As you can see in the above picture, Lane was very upset when Jenny took back one of HER toys to play with it. Also, you can note that Jenny is not upset at all that Lane is crying and pitching a fit. We had a quick talk and things were back to normal again.

We went to dinner and thank heavens for little matchbox cars. Those seem to be the only thing to hold Bug's attention these days. He played with a few through the entire dinner and luckily we sat outside at the grille there at the Hilton. We all enjoyed the dinning experience that night.

Then we loaded up on the "school bus" as Lane called it and went back to Baytowne Wharf. Lane had not napped so we took his stroller. It is one of the rare times when he actually rode in it. He drove the boats and played on the playground.

I will get the video posted later. For some reason, (probably the operator) I can't get it uploaded.

Beach Bums

We rolled back into the 'hood about 3:3o today. By 4:00, I had everything unpacked and the washer/dryer were humming along good. We had a great time. The Hilton will never be same I am sure. We left our mark - Bug dropped a convertible yellow Hot Wheels car down one of the drain thingies out by the pool. I must brag on what a good Mommy I was. I pulled the grate up and attempted to retrieve the car. But alas, my arm was not long enough. We stood up, we grieved, and then we purchased another later in the evening.

I guess I am getting ahead of myself though. The ride down went well. I only had to ride about 50 miles in the back seat. I wasn't too car sick when we arrived but man, I was glad to get out from back there.

When we went out to the beach, Monty commented that he felt like John Candy in Summer Rental and I had to giggle because he was dead on it. The beach was P-A-C-K-E-D! But we found a spot (right in the middle of where everyone was walking up and down the beach by the water) and began to splash and play. All the while, we ignored the looks from those who were a little put out that we were sitting right down the walking path at the shore. But frankly, we didn't care. There was honestly no where else to sit.

Here are a few pictures of Lane and some of Monty and I with Lane's bucket hat. Of course, the tractor went to the beach again this year too!

So, more tomorrow about the trip. I have some really funny video footage of Bug. That boy......

CONGRATULATIONS

I just wanted to give a big congratulatory shout out to my cousin, Napp. He, his wife Angela, kids Xylie & Zayden and little puppy Carleigh will be moving to Athens at the end of the Summer. He will be teaching at UGA. Oh my gosh! I know....what could he be feeling deep down right now.....he graduated with PhD in Political Science from University of Florida (GO GATORS) and now....well, he must go "lie amongst dawgs"! Watch out for fleas!! Hee hee hee
I couldn't resist it.
We love you guys!

Countdown

Hello, hello, H-E-L-L-O!!

We are getting packed and ready to go. I can hardly wait. The boys are out and about running a few errands. I have 99% of the stuff packed and only about 10% loaded in the truck. But I am cleaning really well before I go. I know I will go nutty when we get back if I walk into a house that is in complete disarray.
So with that said, I want share one of my absolute favorite little finds. Click here to see what gem I stumbled on about a year ago. It is wonderful! The long handle comes off and the wide floor attachment slides off and it becomes a little hand held vacuum. I used it last night to clean out my truck. It also comes with one of those tiny crevice cleaner attachments. I love it for my hard wood floors. It really sucks up dirt and cracker crumbs. And heaven help me, we have plenty of cracker crumbs at my house thanks to Bug!
So, let me go do a little dusting and then load up the truck!
Y'all have a great weekend.
Disclaimer: Anybody wanting to come to my home and burglarize it while I am gone, note that there is nothing really of great value here. All diamonds are on my person and are electronics in our home....well....let's just say no DVRs, no flat screens, no HDTV. We love what we have but I am sure it won't bring much for you at the pawn shop.

Tah-Tah!

My Friday but it is only Thursday

Hey Y'all!

It is Thursday actually but to me to it is Friday for work purposes. I will go in and tie up all loose ends so I can ease my little mind on our long weekend. So anyway, yada, yada, yada. I hope you all are having a good week. It is all down hill from here.

I'll leave you with a couple of pictures of Bug at the fountain earlier this week. We dined at Old Mexico and then walked up to the big fountain at the Courthouse. Bug loves it so much. As you can see, his Daddy is standing behind me. We thought he was going to dive in at any second because he had already tried. He likes to put his feet in our waterfall at my work too. It is not nearly as deep as this one.

And last, here is a picture from Bug's bath time. The big fish with the duck is the boat and the duck is driving it. The small round thing with the turtle is the innertube and the turtle is riding it. Isn't that too cute??

Dreaming...

of the weekend! We are going for a little three day weekend vacation down to Sandestin and stay at the Hilton there. We haven't been there before but the pictures look so nice.

I am scheduled for a little R&R at the Spa there.....man, I am looking forward to that!

So if you see me around town and I have a glazed look on my face - I am simply wishing it was Friday and we were headed on down. Just smack me around and tell me to get back to reality! LOL

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddys!!
I know I don't tell my Daddy enough how much I love him. So, be sure to share with yours today if you haven't already.
Here is an old picture from July 4th of last year.
I think it is a sweet picture of Bug and his Daddy.

Derby

Well, I know I am a country girl and I am quite proud of it. Just to name a few "country" events I have attended - a rat shoot, anything hog and pig related whereas I was raised on a pig farm, but there was one thing missing from my list and last night I had the chance to add it. We went to the local Demolition Derby. Y'all, it was crazy! We had a great time.

We only had mud slung up on us one time. Bug and I both were a little disturbed with that - for 2 entirely different reasons. I wear contacts so dirt coming at your body including your face is never a good thing especially when you recently popped in a fresh pair. And Bug, well, he doesn't like his hair washed so it didn't do him any favors either.
But after that, we settled in for a good 'ole Derby and started picking our favorites. Obviously, we need to load Bug up and head to Vegas whereas 2 out of his 3 picks finished first. Not too shabby I must say.

Waiting for the start was kind of boring as you can see.

This guy didn't do too well. I wasn't heart broken - he is the one who slung mud on us.

Pickle eating contest was held between heats 2 and 3. Hmm....never seen one of those either. This guy with the mullet won it. I think the contest was unfair. He clearly had an advantage over the other contests. They didn't hold a candle to him. I wonder if his belly has stopped hurting yet.....

This car was cool - Mullets Gone Wild - was the name AND it was Orange & Blue (GATOR colors) so it was naturally a favorite for us.

The Po-Po car was cute too but also didn't do too well.

The little Toyota won the 2nd Heat. We surely didn't think that little car would hold up along side some of the larger and heavier cars. What we didn't factor in was how quick and agile this little car could be. He flew all around the place - sounded like a bumble bee.

This pink car won the 1st Heat. Of course, being a girl, I had picked it as my favorite.

So tonight they do it all again. Look around if you go, we may go back if we don't go to the Lake House!

Quick Post

Hi-ya!

Here are some, yep, you guessed it! Pictures from us boating this weekend. Although some tendons in my left foot were "inflicted with trauma" while kneeboarding, we had a great time!

9 on the 9th - Modern "Conveniences"

Nine on the Ninth - hosted by All that Naz

Here is my rant on "convenience" things that don't always work out to be truly convenient.

1. Cell phones - Ugh, from the person in line in front of you at the grocery store who won't stop chattering incessantly about NOTHING to unload their purchases to the driver in front of you who can't concentrate on driving for yapping - I am over it with folks who are obnoxious cell phone users. Hush already in public places - those of us who have to listen to you, we don't care.

2. Automated telephone answering systems at places of business - Geez...these are really annoying. Especially if you don't know the extension of the person you wish to speak with. And then it will ask you spell their last name with the keypad. Good luck with that! It hardly ever works for me.

3. Self checkout lines - Okay, maybe it it simply the operator, but those things seriously trip me up!

4. Gadget lights in your vehicle - Low Tire Pressure, Buckle Seat Belt, Low Fuel....these are great about notifying you on items that should be checked on your truck but please - no constant dinging noise.

5. Childproof anything - I know these mean well and have a really good chance of saving lots of incidents with children but....don't you find them annoying also? Or is it the same problem as listed in #3?

6. Mechanical pencils - Why is the lead in these not as thick as the old fashioned pencils you sharpen yourself? Man - I can bust the lead off these things all day! Of course, I put a lot of pressure on my pens and pencils but the old fashioned ones don't break with me. What is the difference?

7. Weights on red lights - Ever get behind the car in the turn lane who is not pulled up far enough for the weight at the red light to detect they are there?? OH MY GOSH! I just about lose my mind in this case scenario. Major road rage folks!! Especially when you have sat through 2 green lights for the cars going straight and the person has not yet figured it out.

8. Telemarketers - enough said.

9. Automatic faucets in public bathrooms - I have a 2 1/2 year old. This is a logistical nightmare.

Whew, that was therapeutic!!

Short lived times but oh, what good times

When Bug's cousin Xylie comes to GA, those two goofy kids have a wonderful time. Bug sure will miss her the next few days and ask about her often. Luckily, my camera was fully charged and ready to go this visit (last visit I barely snapped a few pictures) so here are some really silly pictures.

This is a little video of Xylie showing LaneBug some dance moves. To me, this was a stark contrast between boys and girls. Bug is just flopping around and yelling whereas Xylie is delicately dancing and singing - too cute!

GoodBye Xylie!

We love you and look forward to seeing you again soon!
